Umm 'Atiyya reported: When Zainab the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) died, he said to us: Wash her odd number of times, i. e. three or five times, and put camphor or something-like camphor at the fifth time, and after you have washed her inform me. So we informed him and he gave us his under-garment, saying: Put it next her body.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ جَمِيعًا عَنْ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ عَمْرٌو حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَازِمٍ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ لَمَّا مَاتَتْ زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اغْسِلْنَهَا وِتْرًا ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الْخَامِسَةِ كَافُورًا أَوْ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ فَإِذَا غَسَلْتُنَّهَا فَأَعْلِمْنَنِي قَالَتْ فَأَعْلَمْنَاهُ فَأَعْطَانَا حَقْوَهُ وَقَالَ أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ

  عاصم احول نے حفصہ بنت سیرین سے اور انھوں نے حضرت ام عطیہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت کی انھوں نے کہا : جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ( بڑی ) بیٹی زینب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا وفات پا گئیں تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں فر ما یا : " اسے طاق تعداد میں تین یا پنچ مرتبہ غسل دو اور پانچویں بار ( پانی میں ) کا فور ۔ ۔ ۔ یا کچھ کا فور ۔ ۔ ۔ ڈال دینا اور جب تم غسل سے فارغ ہو جا ؤتو مجھے بتا نا ۔ " ہم نے آپ کو بتا یا تو آپ نے ہمیں اپنا تہبند دیا اور فر ما یا : " اس ( تہبند ) کو اس کے جسم کے ساتھ لپیٹ دو ۔ "
