Baab Emaan Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْعَبَّاسَ، يَقُولُ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنَّ أَبَا طَالِبٍ كَانَ يَحُوطُكَ وَيَنْصُرُكَ فَهَلْ نَفَعَهُ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ: «نَعَمْ، وَجَدْتُهُ فِي غَمَرَاتٍ مِنَ النَّارِ، فَأَخْرَجْتُهُ إِلَى ضَحْضَاحٍ».

Urdu Translation

  سفیان ( بن عیینہ ) نے عبد الملک بن عمیر سے حدیث سنائی ، انہوں نے عبد اللہ بن حارث سے روایت کی ، کہا : میں نے حضرت عباس ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے سنا ، کہہ رہے تھے کہ میں نے پوچھا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! ابو طالب ہر طرف سے آپ کی حفاظت کرتے تھے ، آپ کی مدد کرتے تھے اور آپ کی خاطر ( مخالفین پر ) غصہ کرتے تھے توکیا اس سے ان کو کچھ نفع ہوا؟ آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ہاں ، میں نے ان کو آگ کی اتھاہ گہرائیوں میں پایا تو ان کم گہری آگ تک نکال لایا ۔ ‘ ‘

English Translation

Abdullah b. al-Harith reported: I heard Abbas say: I said: Messenger of Allah, verily Abu Talib defended you and helped you; would it be beneficial for him? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Yes; I found him in the lowest part of the Fire and I brought him to the shallow part.
