Abdullah b. Mas'ud reported: The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) addressing us said: Aren't you pleased that you should constitute one-fourth of the inhabitants of Paradise? He (the narrator) said: We glorified (our Lord, i. e. we called aloud Allah-o Akbar, Allah is the Greatest). He, then, again said: Aren't you pleased that you should constitute one-third of the inhabitants of Paradise? He (the narrator) said: We glorified (our Lord) and he (the Holy Prophet) then again said: I hope that you would constitute half of the inhabitants of Paradise and I shall explain to you its (reason). The believers among the unbelievers would not be more than a white hair on (the body of a) black ox or a black hair on (the body of a) white ox.

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَمَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا رُبُعَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» قَالَ: فَكَبَّرْنَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «أَمَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ تَكُونُوا ثُلُثَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ؟» قَالَ: فَكَبَّرْنَا، ثُمَّ قَالَ: «إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ تَكُونُوا شَطْرَ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَسَأُخْبِرُكُمْ عَنْ ذَلِكَ، مَا الْمُسْلِمُونَ فِي الْكُفَّارِ إِلَّا كَشَعْرَةٍ بَيْضَاءَ فِي ثَوْرٍ أَسْوَدَ، أَوْ كَشَعْرَةٍ سَوْدَاءَ فِي ثَوْرٍ أَبْيَضَ»

  ابو احوص نے ابو اسحاق سے حدیث سنائی ، انہوں نےعمرو بن میمون سے اور انہوں نے حضرت عبد اللہ ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے روایت کی ، کہا : رسول اللہ ﷺ نےہم سے فرمایا : ’’کیا تم اس بات پر راضی نہیں کہ تم اہل جنت کا چوتھا حصہ ہو ؟ ‘ ‘ ہم نے ( خوشی ) اللہ اکبر کہا ، پھر آپ نے فرمایا : ’’ کیا تم اس پر راضی نہ ہوگے کہ تم اہل جنت کا تہائی حصہ ہو ؟ ‘ ‘ کہا کہ ہم نے ( دوبارہ ) نعرہ تکبیر بلند کیا ، پھر آپ نے فرمایا : ’’میں امید کرتا ہوں کہ تم اہل جنت کانصف ہو گے اور ( یہ کیسے ہو گا؟ ) میں اس کے بارے میں ابھی بتاؤں گا ۔ کافروں ( کے مقابلے ) میں مسلمان اس سے زیادہ نہیں جتنے سیاہ رنگ کے بیل میں ایک سفید بال یا سفید رنگ کے بیل میں ایک
