Baab Anbia Karaam Ke Fazail

حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الْقَيْسِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ رَقَبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، قَالَ: قِيلَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: إِنَّ نَوْفًا يَزْعُمُ أَنَّ مُوسَى الَّذِي ذَهَبَ يَلْتَمِسُ الْعِلْمَ لَيْسَ بِمُوسَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ، قَالَ: أَسَمِعْتَهُ يَا سَعِيدُ؟ قُلْتُ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: كَذَبَ نَوْفٌ.

Urdu Translation

  ۔ معتمر کے والد سلیمان تیمی نے رقبہ سے ، انھوں نے ابو اسحق سے انھوں نے سعید بن جبیر سے روایت کی ، کہا : حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے کہا گیا کہ نوف سمجھتا ہے ۔ کہ جو موسیٰ علیہ السلام علم کے حصول کے لئے گئے تھے وہ بنی اسرائیل کے موسیٰ علیہ السلام نہ تھے ، حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا : سعید!کیا آپ نے خود اس سے سنا ہے؟میں نے کہا : جی ہاں ، حضرت ابن عباس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے کہا : نوف نے جھوٹ کہا ۔

English Translation

Sa, id b. jubair reported that it was said to Ibn 'Abbas that Nauf al-Bikali was of the opinion that Moses who went in search of knowledge was not the Moses of Bani Isra'il. He said: Sa'id, did you hear it from him? I said: Yes. Thereupon he said that Nauf had not stated the fact.
