Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: Two are the expressions which are light on the tongue, but heavy in scale, dear to the Compassionate One: Hallowed be Allah and praise is due to Him ; Hallowed be Allah, the Great.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ الْبَجَلِيُّ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَلِمَتَانِ خَفِيفَتَانِ عَلَى اللِّسَانِ ثَقِيلَتَانِ فِي الْمِيزَانِ حَبِيبَتَانِ إِلَى الرَّحْمَنِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ الْعَظِيمِ

  حضرت ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے ، کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " دو کلمے ہیں جو زبان پر ہلکے ہیں اور میزان میں بھاری ہیں اور اللہ کو بہت محبوب ہیں : " سبحان الله وبحمده سبحان العظيم " اللہ ہر اس چیز سے پاک ہے جو اس کے شایان شان نہیں اور سب حمد اسی کو سزاوار ہے ، اللہ ہر اس چیز سے پاک ہے جو اس کے شایان شان نہیں اور عظمت کی ہر صفت سے متصف ہے ۔ "
