حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ح و حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ شَقِيقٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا أَحَدٌ أَغْيَرَ مِنْ اللَّهِ وَلِذَلِكَ حَرَّمَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَلَا أَحَدٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ الْمَدْحُ مِنْ اللَّهِ

Urdu Translation

  عبداللہ بن نمیر اور ابومعاویہ نے اعمش سے ، انہوں نے شقیق سے اور انہوں نے حضرت عبداللہ ( بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ ) سے روایت کی کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : " اللہ سے بڑھ کر کوئی غیور نہیں ہے ، اسی لیے اس نے بے حیائی کے تمام کام ، ان میں سے جو ظاہر ہیں اور جو پوشیدہ ہیں حرام کر دیے ہیں ، اللہ تعالیٰ سے بڑھ کر کوئی نہیں ہے جسے مدح زیادہ پسند ہو ۔ "

English Translation

Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: None is more self-respectidg than Allah and it is because of this that He has prohibited abominable acts-both visible and invisible-and none loves His praise more than Allah Himself.
