Shu'ba reported it with the same chain of transmitters. with she addition of these words: I said to Qatada: Did you hear it from Anas? He replied in the affir- mative and added: We had inquired of him about it.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، وَزَادَ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ: فَقُلْتُ لِقَتَادَةَ: أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: نَعَمْ نَحْنُ سَأَلْنَاهُ عَنْهُ

  محمد بن ( جعفر کے بجائے ) ابو داؤد نے شعبہ سے اسی سند سے روایت کی اور یہ اضافہ کیا کہ شعبہ نے کہا : میں نے قتادہ سے کہا : کیا آپ نے یہ روایت انس ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے سنی ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا : ہاں ، کہا : ہاں ، ہم نے سے اس کے بارے میں پوچھا تھا ۔
