Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم offered the Eid prayer without the adhan and the iqamah. Abu Bakr and Umar or Uthman also did so. The narrator Yahya is doubtful about Uthman.

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الْعِيدَ بِلَا أَذَانٍ وَلَا إِقَامَةٍ . وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏شَكَّ يَحْيَى.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عید کی نماز بغیر اذان اور اقامت کے پڑھی اور ابوبکر اور عمر یا عثمان رضی اللہ عنہم نے بھی، یہ شک یحییٰ قطان کو ہوا ہے۔
