Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: Dhakwan, the client of Aishah, reported on the authority of Aishah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to pray after the afternoon prayer but prohibited others from it; and he would fast continuously but forbid others to do so.

حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ذَكْوَانَمَوْلَى عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهَا حَدَّثَتْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَنْهَى عَنْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُوَاصِلُ وَيَنْهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے غلام ذکوان سے روایت ہے کہ   ام المؤمنین عائشہ نے ان سے بیان کیا ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( خود تو ) عصر کے بعد نماز پڑھتے تھے اور ( دوسروں کو ) اس سے منع فرماتے، اور پے در پے روزے بھی رکھتے تھے اور ( دوسروں کو ) مسلسل روزہ رکھنے سے منع فرماتے تھے۔
