حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُعَلِّمُهُمْ هَذَا الدُّعَاءَ كَمَا يُعَلِّمُهُمُ السُّورَةَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم انہیں یہ دعا اسی طرح سکھاتے جس طرح قرآن کی سورۃ سکھاتے تھے، فرماتے: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من عذاب جهنم وأعوذ بك من عذاب القبر وأعوذ بك من فتنة المسيح الدجال وأعوذ بك من فتنة المحيا والممات» اے اللہ میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں جہنم کے عذاب سے، تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں قبر کے عذاب سے، تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں مسیح دجال کے فتنے سے اور تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں زندگی اور موت کی آزمایشوں سے ۔

English Translation

Abdullah bin Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to teach us this supplication as he taught us the surah from the Quran. He would say: O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hell and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge from You from the trails of Al-Masihid-Dajjal, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death.
