Sunan Abu Dawood 2107 - Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah)

حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُعَلَّى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَحْتَ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَحْشٍ فَمَاتَ بِأَرْضِ الْحَبَشَةِ فَزَوَّجَهَا النَّجَاشِيُّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَمْهَرَهَا عَنْهُ أَرْبَعَةَ آلَافٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَبَعَثَ بِهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ شُرَحْبِيلَ ابْنِ حَسَنَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ حَسَنَةُ هِيَ أُمُّهُ.

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین ام حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ   کہ وہ عبیداللہ بن حجش کے نکاح میں تھیں، حبشہ میں ان کا انتقال ہو گیا تو نجاشی ( شاہ حبشہ ) نے ان کا نکاح رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کر دیا، اور آپ کی جانب سے انہیں چار ہزار ( درہم ) مہر دے کر شرحبیل بن حسنہ رضی اللہ عنہ کے ہمراہ انہیں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس روانہ کر دیا ۱؎۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: حسنہ شرحبیل کی والدہ ۲؎ ہیں۔

English Translation

Urwah reported on the authority of Umm Habibah that she was married to Abdullah ibn Jahsh who died in Abyssinia, so the Negus married her to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم giving her on his behalf a dower of four thousand (dirhams). He sent her to the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم with Shurahbil ibn Hasanah. Abu Dawud said: Hasanah is his mother.
