Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was travelling and night came on, he said: O earth, my Lord and your Lord is Allah; I seek refuge in Allah from your evil, the evil of what you contain, the evil of what has been created in you, and the evil of what creeps upon you; I seek refuge in Allah from lions, from large black snakes, from other snakes, from scorpions, from the evil of jinn which inhabit a settlement, and from a parent and his offspring.

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي صَفْوَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي شُرَيْحُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَافَرَ فَأَقْبَلَ اللَّيْلُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَرْضُ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكِ اللَّهُ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شَرِّكِ وَشَرِّ مَا فِيكِ وَشَرِّ مَا خُلِقَ فِيكِ وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا يَدِبُّ عَلَيْكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ أَسَدٍ وَأَسْوَدَ وَمِنَ الْحَيَّةِ وَالْعَقْرَبِ وَمِنْ سَاكِنِ الْبَلَدِ وَمِنْ وَالِدٍ وَمَا وَلَدَ .

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جب سفر کرتے اور رات ہو جاتی تو فرماتے: «يا أرض ربي وربك الله أعوذ بالله من شرك وشر ما فيك وشر ما خلق فيك ومن شر ما يدب عليك وأعوذ بالله من أسد وأسود ومن الحية والعقرب ومن ساكن البلد ومن والد وما ولد» اے زمین! میرا اور تیرا رب اللہ ہے، میں اللہ کی پناہ چاہتا ہوں تیرے شر سے اور اس چیز کے شر سے جو تجھ میں ہے اور اس چیز کے شر سے جو تجھ میں پیدا کی گئی ہے اور اس چیز کے شر سے جو تجھ پر چلتی ہے اور اللہ کی پناہ چاہتا ہوں شیر اور کالے ناگ سے اور سانپ اور بچھو سے اور زمین پر رہنے والے ( انسانوں اور جنوں ) کے شر سے اور جننے والے کے شر اور جس چیز کو جسے اس نے جنا ہے اس کے شر سے ۔
