حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَوْسَجَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَجُلًا مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَدَعْ وَارِثًا إِلَّا غُلَامًا لَهُ كَانَ أَعْتَقَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ لَهُ أَحَدٌ ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ لَا إِلَّا غُلَامًا لَهُ كَانَ أَعْتَقَهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِيرَاثَهُ لَهُ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک شخص رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں مر گیا اور ایک غلام کے سوا جسے وہ آزاد کر چکا تھا کوئی وارث نہ چھوڑا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پوچھا: کیا کوئی اس کا وارث ہے؟ لوگوں نے کہا: کوئی نہیں سوائے ایک غلام کے جس کو اس نے آزاد کر دیا تھا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اسی کو اس کا ترکہ دلا دیا۔

English Translation

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: A man died leaving no heir but a slave whom he had emancipated. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم asked: Has he any heir? They replied: No, except a slave whom he had emancipated. The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم assigned his estate to him (the emancipated slave).
