حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الأَشَجِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ السَّاعِدِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اسْتَعْمَلَنِي عُمَرُ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ فَلَمَّا فَرَغْتُ أَمَرَ لِي بِعُمَالَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا عَمِلْتُ لِلَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خُذْ مَا أُعْطِيتَ فَإِنِّي قَدْ عَمِلْتُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَعَمَّلَنِي.

Urdu Translation

ابن الساعدی (عبداللہ بن عمرو السعدی القرشی العامری) رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے مجھے صدقہ ( وصولی ) پر عامل مقرر کیا جب میں اس کام سے فارغ ہوا تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے میرے کام کی اجرت دینے کا حکم دیا، میں نے کہا: میں نے یہ کام اللہ کے لیے کیا ہے، انہوں نے کہا: جو تمہیں دیا جائے اسے لے لو، میں نے بھی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں ( زکاۃ کی وصولی کا ) کام کیا تھا تو آپ نے مجھے اجرت دی۔

English Translation

Narrated Ibn al-Saeedi: Umar reported me to collect the sadaqah (i. e. zakat). When I became free, he ordered to give me payment for it. I said: I have worked for the sake of Allah. He said: Take what you have been given, for I held an administrative post in the time of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, and he gave me payment for it.
