حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَوْفٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا بِأُمَّهَاتِكُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا بِالْأَنْدَادِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا تَحْلِفُوا إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا تَحْلِفُوا بِاللَّهِ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُمْ صَادِقُونَ .

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم اپنے باپ دادا کی قسم نہ کھاؤ، نہ اپنی ماؤں کی قسم کھانا، اور نہ ان کی قسم کھانا جنہیں لوگ اللہ کا شریک ٹھہراتے ہیں، تم صرف اللہ کی قسم کھانا، اور اللہ کی بھی قسم اسی وقت کھاؤ جب تم سچے ہو ۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Do not swear by your fathers, or by your mothers, or by rivals to Allah; and swear by Allah only, and swear by Allah only when you are speaking the truth.
