Narrated Amr bin Shuaib: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم killed a man of Banu Nadr ibn Malik at Harrah ar-Righa' at the bank of Layyat al-Bahrah. The transmitter Mahmud (ibn Khalid) also mentioned the words along with the words at Bahrah the slayer and the slain were from among them . Mahmud alone transmitted in this tradition the words at the bank of Layyah .

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا. ح حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا الْوَلِيدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِي عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهُ قَتَلَ بِالْقَسَامَةِ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي نَصْرِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ بِبَحْرَةِ الرُّغَاءِ عَلَى شَطِّ لِيَّةِ الْبَحْرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْقَاتِلُ وَالْمَقْتُولُ مِنْهُمْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَذَا لَفْظُ مَحْمُودٍ بِبَحْرَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَقَامَهُ مَحْمُودٌ وَحْدَهُ عَلَى شَطِّ لِيَّةَ.

عمرو بن شعیب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ   آپ نے قسامہ سے بنی نصر بن مالک کے ایک آدمی کو بحرۃالرغاء ۱؎میں لیۃالبحرہ ۲؎ کے کنارے پر قتل کیا، راوی کہتے ہیں: قاتل اور مقتول دونوں بنی نصر کے تھے، «ببحرة الرغاء على شطر لية البحر»کے یہ الفاظ محمود کے ہیں اور محمود اس حدیث کے سلسلہ میں سب سے زیادہ درست آدمی ہیں۔
