Abdullah bin Abi Awfa said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite a great deal of remembrance, engage little in idle talk, make the prayer long and keep the khutbah short, and he would not refrain from walking with a widow or poor person and tending to their needs.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ عُقَيْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُكْثِرُ الذِّكْرَ وَيُقِلُّ اللَّغْوَ وَيُطِيلُ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُقَصِّرُ الْخُطْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا يَأْنَفُ أَنْ يَمْشِيَ مَعَ الْأَرْمَلَةِ وَالْمِسْكِينِ فَيَقْضِيَ لَهُ الْحَاجَةَ .

عبداللہ بن ابی اوفی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ذکرو اذکار زیادہ کرتے، لایعنی باتوں سے گریز کرتے، نماز لمبی پڑھتے، اور خطبہ مختصر دیتے تھے، اور بیواؤں اور مسکینوں کے ساتھ جانے میں کہ ان کی ضرورت پوری کریں، عار محسوس نہیں کرتے تھے۔
