It was narrated that Abdullah bin Shaqiq said: I said to Aishah: 'Did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) pray sitting down?' She said: 'Yes, after the people had worn him out.'

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْأَشْعَثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ زُرَيْعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا الْجُرَيْرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لِعَائِشَةَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ ؟ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏بَعْدَ مَا حَطَمَهُ النَّاسُ .
