أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا مَنْصُورٌ هُوَ ابْنُ زَاذَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ بِنِيَاحَةِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ:‏‏‏‏ أَرَأَيْتَ رَجُلًا مَاتَ بِخُرَاسَانَ وَنَاحَ أَهْلُهُ عَلَيْهِ هَاهُنَا،‏‏‏‏ أَكَانَ يُعَذَّبُ بِنِيَاحَةِ أَهْلِهِ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَكَذَبْتَ أَنْتَ.

Urdu Translation

عمران بن حصین رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   انہوں نے کہا کہ میت کو اس کے گھر والوں کے نوحہ کرنے کی وجہ سے عذاب دیا جاتا ہے، اس پر ایک شخص نے ان سے کہا: مجھے بتائیے کہ ایک شخص خراسان میں مرے، اور اس کے گھر والے یہاں اس پر نوحہ کریں تو اس پر اس کے گھر والوں کے نوحہ کرنے کی وجہ سے عذاب دیا جائے گا، ( یہ بات عقل میں آنے والی نہیں ) ؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سچ فرمایا، اور تو جھوٹا ہے ۱؎۔

English Translation

It was narrated that 'Imran bin Husain said: The deceased is punished due to his family's wailing for him. A man said to him: A man died in Khurasan and his family wailed for him here; will he be punished due to his family's wailing? He said: The Messenger of Allah spoke the truth and you are a liar.
