Urwah bin Az-Zubair narrated that 'Aishah told him: The Messenger of Allah went out in the middle of the night and prayed in the Masjid, and he quoted the same Hadith, in which he said: nd he encouraged them to pray Qiyam in Ramadan, without insisting on that, and he said: 'Whoever spends the nights of Ramadan in prayer (Qiyam) out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins. '

أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ مِنْ جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَصَلَّى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ وَقَالَ فِيهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُرَغِّبُهُمْ فِي قِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَأْمُرَهُمْ بِعَزِيمَةِ أَمْرٍ فِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم آدھی رات کو نکلے تو مسجد میں نماز پڑھی۔ راوی نے پوری حدیث بیان کی، اس میں ہے: اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم انہیں بغیر تاکیدی حکم دیئے رمضان میں قیام اللیل کرنے یعنی تہجد پڑھنے کی ترغیب دلاتے تھے، اور فرماتے تھے: ”جس نے ایمان کے ساتھ اور ثواب کی نیت سے رمضان میں قیام اللیل کیا یعنی تراویح پڑھی تو اس کے پچھلے گناہ بخش دئیے جائیں گے“۔
