It was narrated that 'Aishah said: Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: I am a woman who suffers from Istihadah and I never become pure. Should I stop praying? He said: No, that is a vein, it is not menstruation. When your period comes, stop praying, and when it goes, wash the blood from yourself and pray.

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَوَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قالت:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلَا أَطْهُرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلَاةَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّمَا ذَلِكَ عِرْقٌ وَلَيْسَتْ بِالْحَيْضَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِذَا أَقْبَلَتِ الْحَيْضَةُ فَدَعِي الصَّلَاةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِذَا أَدْبَرَتْ فَاغْسِلِي عَنْكِ الدَّمَ وَصَلِّي .

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   فاطمہ بنت ابی حبیش رضی اللہ عنہا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئیں، اور عرض کیا کہ مجھے استحاضہ کا خون آتا ہے، میں پاک نہیں رہ پاتی ہوں، کیا نماز ترک کر دوں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا:  نہیں، یہ تو ایک رگ  ( کا خون )  ہے، حیض نہیں ہے، تو جب حیض آنے لگے تو نماز ترک کر دو اور جب ختم ہو جائے تو اپنے بدن سے خون دھو لو، اور  ( غسل کر کے )  نماز پڑھو ۔
