It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: A man came to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you think if someone comes to steal my wealth?' He said: 'Urge him by Allah.' He said: 'What if he persists?' He said: 'Urge him by Allah.' He said: 'What if he persists?' He said: 'Urge him by Allah.' He said: 'What if he persists?' He said: 'Then fight. If you are killed you will be in Paradise, and if you kill him, he will be in the Fire.'

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ الْهَادِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ قُهَيْدٍ الْغِفَارِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ عُدِيَ عَلَى مَالِي. قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَانْشُدْ بِاللَّهِ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ. قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَانْشُدْ بِاللَّهِ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ. قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَانْشُدْ بِاللَّهِ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَإِنْ أَبَوْا عَلَيَّ. قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقَاتِلْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنْ قُتِلْتَ فَفِي الْجَنَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ قَتَلْتَ فَفِي النَّارِ .

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! آپ کا کیا حکم ہے اگر کوئی میرا مال ظلم سے لینے آئے؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”انہیں اللہ کی قسم دو“، اس نے کہا: اگر وہ نہ مانیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”انہیں اللہ کی قسم دو“ , اس نے کہا: اگر وہ نہ مانیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”انہیں اللہ کی قسم دو“، اس نے کہا: پھر بھی وہ نہ مانیں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”پھر ان سے لڑو، اگر تم مارے گئے تو جنت میں ہو گے ۱؎ اور اگر تم نے انہیں مار دیا تو وہ جہنم میں ہوں گے“۔
