Sunan Ibn Majah 1163

‘Ali bin Zaid bin Jud’an said: “I heard Anas bin Malik say: ‘The Mu ’adh-dhin would call the Adhan during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and one would think that it was the Iqamah because there were so many people who stood and performed the two Rak’ah before the Maghrib.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُأَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنْ كَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ لَيُؤَذِّنُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيُرَى أَنَّهَا الْإِقَامَةُ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ مَنْ يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ .

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں مؤذن اذان دیتا تو لوگ اتنی کثرت سے مغرب سے پہلے دو رکعت پڑھنے کے لیے کھڑے ہوتے کہ محسوس ہوتا کہ نماز مغرب کے لیے اقامت کہہ دی گئی ہے ۱؎۔

Sunan Ibn Majah 1164

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) used to pray the Maghrib, then he would come back to my house and pray two Rak’ah.” ..
