It was narrated that Qais said: I heard Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas say: 'I am the first of the Arabs to shoot an arrow in the cause of Allah.'

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَخَالِي يَعْلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَوَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَيْسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُسَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي لَأَوَّلُ الْعَرَبِ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ .

قیس بن ابی حازم کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی اللہ عنہ کو کہتے سنا: میں پہلا عربی شخص ہوں جس نے اللہ کی راہ میں تیر چلایا۔
