It was narrated that Rifa’ah Al-Juhani said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Allah provides respite until, when half or two thirds of the night had passed, He says: “My slave does not ask of anyone other than Me. Whoever calls upon Me, I will answer him; whoever asks of Me, I will give him; whoever asks My forgiveness, I will forgive him,” until dawn comes.’”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رِفَاعَةَ الْجُهَنِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُمْهِلُ حَتَّى إِذَا ذَهَبَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ نِصْفُهُ أَوْ ثُلُثَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَسْأَلَنَّ عِبَادِي غَيْرِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَنْ يَدْعُنِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَنْ يَسْأَلْنِي أُعْطِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرْنِي أَغْفِرْ لَهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ.

رفاعہ جہنی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: بیشک اللہ مہلت دیتا ہے ( اپنے بندوں کو کہ وہ سوئیں اور آرام کریں ) یہاں تک کہ جب رات کا آدھا یا اس کا دو تہائی حصہ گزر جاتا ہے، تو فرماتا ہے: میرے بندے! میرے سوا کسی سے ہرگز نہ مانگیں، جو کوئی مجھے پکارے گا میں اس کی دعا قبول کروں گا، جو مجھ سے سوال کرے گا میں اسے دوں گا، جو مجھ سے مغفرت چاہے گا، میں اسے بخش دوں گا، طلوع فجر تک یہی حال رہتا ہے ۱؎۔
