It was narrated that ‘Ali bin Abu Talib said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up for a funeral, and we stood up, until he sat down, then we sat down.”

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَسْعُودِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِجِنَازَةٍ فَقُمْنَا حَتَّى جَلَسَ فَجَلَسْنَا .
