حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا نَتَّقِي الْكَلَامَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالِانْبِسَاطَ إِلَى نِسَائِنَا عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يُنْزَلَ فِينَا الْقُرْآنُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا مَاتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَكَلَّمْنَا .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ میں اپنی عورتوں سے باتیں کرنے اور ان سے بہت زیادہ بےتکلف ہونے سے پرہیز کرتے تھے کہ ہمارے سلسلے میں کہیں قرآن نہ اتر جائے، جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا انتقال ہوا تو ہم باتیں کرنے لگے۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “We used to be guarded in our speech even with our wives at the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), fearing that Qur’an may be revealed amongst us, but when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) died, we began to speak freely.”
