حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْجِعْرَانَةِ وَهُوَ يَقْسِمُ التِّبْرَ وَالْغَنَائِمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ فِي حِجْرِ بِلَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ:‏‏‏‏ اعْدِلْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ فَإِنَّكَ لَمْ تَعْدِلْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَيْلَكَ وَمَنْ يَعْدِلُ بَعْدِي إِذَا لَمْ أَعْدِلْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ دَعْنِي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ حَتَّى أَضْرِبَ عُنُقَ هَذَا الْمُنَافِقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ هَذَا فِي أَصْحَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ أُصَيْحَابٍ لَهُ يَقْرَءُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لَا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَمْرُقُونَ مِنَ الدِّينِ كَمَا يَمْرُقُ السَّهْمُ مِنَ الرَّمِيَّةِ .

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مقام جعرانہ میں تشریف فرما تھے، اور آپ بلال رضی اللہ عنہ کی گود میں سے سونا، چاندی اور اموال غنیمت ( لوگوں میں ) تقسیم فرما رہے تھے، تو ایک شخص نے کہا: اے محمد! عدل و انصاف کیجئیے، آپ نے عدل سے کام نہیں لیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تیرا برا ہو، اگر میں عدل و انصاف نہ کروں گا تو میرے بعد کون عدل کرے گا؟ ، عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! مجھے اجازت دیجئیے، میں اس منافق کی گردن اڑا دوں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس کے اور بھی ساتھی ہیں جو قرآن کو پڑھتے ہیں، لیکن وہ ان کی حلق سے نیچے نہیں اترتا ہے، وہ دین سے ایسے ہی نکل جائیں گے جس طرح تیر شکار سے نکل جاتا ہے ۱؎۔
