It was narrated from Adi bin Adi Al-Kindi that: his father said: “The Messenger of Allah said: 'A previously-married woman can speak for herself, and the consent of a virgin is her silence.' ”

حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ الْكِنْدِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ الثَّيِّبُ تُعْرِبُ عَنْ نَفْسِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْبِكْرُ رِضَاهَا صَمْتُهَا .

عدی کندی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: غیر کنواری عورت اپنی رضا مندی صراحۃً ظاہر کرے، اور کنواری کی رضا مندی اس کی خاموشی ہے ۱؎۔
