It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed that Jibra’il came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: “O Muhammad, you are ill. He said: ‘Yes.’ He said: Bismillahi arqika, min kulli shay’in yu’dhika, min sharri kulli nafsin aw ‘aynin aw hasidin. Allahu yashfika, bismillahi arqika (In the Name of Allah I perform Ruqyah for you, from everything that is harming you, from the evil of every soul or envious eye, may Allah heal you. In the Name of Allah I perform Ruqyah for you).

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ الصَّوَّافُ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ جِبْرَائِيلَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا مُحَمَّدُ،‏‏‏‏ اشْتَكَيْتَ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ يُؤْذِيكَ،‏‏‏‏ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ أَوْ عَيْنٍ أَوْ حَاسِدٍ،‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُ يَشْفِيكَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ أَرْقِيكَ .

ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر کہا: اے محمد! کیا آپ بیمار ہو گئے ہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عرض کیا: ہاں ، جبرائیل علیہ السلام نے کہا: «بسم الله أرقيك من كل شيء يؤذيك من شر كل نفس أو عين أو حاسد الله يشفيك بسم الله أرقيك» اللہ کے نام سے میں آپ پر دم کرتا ہوں، ہر اس چیز سے جو آپ کو اذیت پہنچائے، ہر جاندار، نظر بند، اور حاسد کے شر سے، اللہ تعالیٰ آپ کو شفاء دے، میں اللہ کے نام سے آپ پر دم کرتا ہوں۔
