It was narrated that Samurah said: The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) forbade giving our slaves four names: Aflah (successful), Nafi' (beneficial), Rabah (profit) and Yasar(prosperity).

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الرُّكَيْنِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِيهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْ نُسَمِّيَ رَقِيقَنَا أَرْبَعَةَ أَسْمَاءٍ،‏‏‏‏ أَفْلَحُ،‏‏‏‏ وَنَافِعٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَرَبَاحٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَيَسَارٌ .

سمرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں اپنے غلاموں کے چار نام رکھنے سے منع فرمایا ہے: «افلح»، «نافع»، «رباح» اور«یسار» ۔
