It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “If the son of Adam had two valleys of wealth, he would love to have a third along with them. Nothing could satisfy him except dust. And Allah accepts the repentance of the one who repents.”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِيهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَوْ أَنَّ لِابْنِ آدَمَ وَادِيَيْنِ مِنْ مَالٍ،‏‏‏‏ لَأَحَبَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ مَعَهُمَا ثَالِثٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا يَمْلَأُ نَفْسَهُ إِلَّا التُّرَابُ،‏‏‏‏ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَى مَنْ تَابَ .

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اگر ابن آدم ( انسان ) کے پاس مال کی دو وادیاں ہوں تو وہ یہ تمنا کرے گا کہ ایک تیسری وادی اور ہو، مٹی کے علاوہ اس کے نفس کو کوئی چیز نہیں بھر سکتی، اور اللہ تعالیٰ جس کو چاہتا ہے اس کی توبہ قبول کرتا ہے ۔
