15 Shaban Importance In Islam
Shaban is the eighth month of the Islamic calendar. It is a sacred Islamic month that holds great importance. People use to keep fast in this month and ask Almighty Allah for his blessings.
Among other days of this month, 15 Shaban is the most blessed night. It is also called Laylat al-Bara'at. During this blessed night, Muslims make special preparations to offer night prayers from evening to dawn. Furthermore Muslims also fast and pay various nawafils to seek blessings from Allah (SWT). It is customary to recite Surah Yaseen after Maghrib or Isha prayers on the night of 15th Shaban.
One of a hadith found that explains the 15 Shaban importance in Islam is one reported by Imam Ahmad and At-Tabarani to the effect that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Almighty Allah descends to the lowest Heaven on the 15th night of Shaban and forgives people that is more than the number of the hairs of the sheep of Banu Kalb (a tribe that has a great number of sheep).
Special worship is recommended on the night of 15 Sha'ban. This is based on the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the meaning of which is that during the night of 15th of Shaban, Allah will say “is there any person repenting so that I forgive him, and any person seeking provision so that I provide for him, and any person with distress so that I relieve him, and so on until dawn.” (Ibn Majah)
