I'm having some confidence issues at work.
(Muhammad Shoaib Tanoli, )
I'm having some confidence
issues at work. I'm working hard but not sure if I'm doing a good job. My boss
never recognises anything I do. When I ask him for feedback, he says I'm 'doing
fine' but that's it. I'm doubting myself and scared I'll be found out as a
fraud. What should I do?"
Whenever someone has this challenge, my first question is always:
How good are you at being your own internal cheerleader?
We all like recognition from others. But when we NEED it, it's a problem.
Because then our whole self-worth becomes dependent on what others think of us.
And we don't ever get to feel successful for ourselves.
As a single solopreneur, I don't have anyone to tell me "Good job!". Becoming a
master of the self-high-five has been instrumental in my happiness and success.
If you're doubting yourself - it's time to start recognising your successes.
Celebrating your wins - big and small. Acknowledging the gifts God has given
you.
At the end of each day - write down all the things you did well. From achieving
a specific goal, to making someone else's day.
It's time to see your awesomeness for yourself.
How do you celebrate your successes?
Would love to hear your stories!
