Why Women’s Education is Important?

(Saba Shoukat Rana, Karachi)

Alhamdulillah, we are the followers of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Our Prophet gave the respect to the women. In seeking knowledge, there is no difference between men and women. Our Holy Prophet (ﷺ) says about seeking knowledge:
“Seeking knowledge is the duty of every Muslim men and women”

Education is not a right but a responsibility on every Muslim. Education tells us how we can live in a society.

Education is very essential for women. Women are the backbone of a society. They are as equally important as men. The role of women cannot be denied in any society or culture.

Hazrat Ayesha (رضی اللہ عنھا) created an example for women’s education within the boundaries of Islamic Shariyah. Hazrat Ayesha (رضی اللہ عنھا) had a great love for learning. She is a first female Scholar in Islam.

Education helps the women to make a positive impact on their families. Women play the different characters in this World (daughter, sister, wife and mother).

Especially, a mother is the most influential personality in the family for the children, so it is very much important to educate the mother so that her offspring should inherit education from their mother and should get a literate environment, so by educating one woman we can educate one whole family. These also explain and promote the need and urgency of educating women in Pakistan and even in the entire world. An educated woman gives an educated family and an educated family can make a good society. According to famous quotation:
“A society has no chance of success if its women are uneducated”

Women’s education has become one of the key development objectives in today’s world. Pakistan is a country in which 52% of the total population comprises of female as per the consensus. So keeping your majority of the population uneducated is a very alarming situation and this might be the root cause of the unstable economy of the country.

It is the need of today as far as Pakistan is concerned to inculcate education to everybody and the focus should be on the woman so that Pakistan should also be considered amongst the leading, developed and successful nations of the World.
