NO ONE CAN HEAL THIS:
PHYSICAL PUNISHMENT IN SCHOOL IS RIGHT OR WRONG?
Pakistani Culture has been taking punishment at schools or educational institutions very lightly. The practice of physical punishment is very common in Pakistan as well as in other countries. These countries still believe that physical punishment is the only way to bring the student on the right way.
Now, I would like to share a true incident related to physical punishment. The story goes as, a school teacher punished her student very badly, the student was in his 4th standard, which you can considered to be just a little child. The reason for the punishment was only that he was talking to his friend set next to him, his teacher saw him and shouted at him and rather than telling him to keep quite. She hit on his head that eventually effected his brain and the little child lost his mental sense. No one can heal this and most importantly he was the only son of his parents, also a future backbone for his parents but now this is not possible due to his mental disorder.
No one could take any actions towards the school and the teacher. Might be the lack of knowledge, unavailability of resources of the family and may also be poor family he belonged. Now, the whole story will remain under the dust of inhumanity.
Punishment is not the only way to force students to improve him/herself. It is utterly an unethical behavior towards students and human in particular. It is also a discouraging force in any level of education.
There should be conducted seminars and workshops in order to acknowledge the teachers and the parents about the effects of physical punishment on the mental health of students. And most importantly it is the responsibility of Ministry of humanity, MISS SHIREEN MAZARI to look all these type of cases.
What do you think that who is responsible for these type of cases?
And what steps should be taken not to repeat what happened to the mentioned above?
