Mother of Nation Mohtrma Fatima Jinnah
Mother of the Nation Fatima Jinnah It has been seventy-five years since Pakistan
came into existence. According to the respected circles of Pakistan, the role of
another personality was very important along with Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the
country's struggle for independence and that was Jinnah's sister, Fatima Jinnah.
In Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah has been awarded the title of 'Quaid-e-Azam'
and Fatima Jinnah has been awarded the title of 'Mother Millat'. After the
establishment of Pakistan, Fatima Jinnah's political insight and leadership,
courage and self-sacrifice are considered to be a bright chapter in the history
of Pakistan.
Known as the Mother of the Nation, Fatima Jinnah is one of the most important
leaders of Pakistan's independence movement. Although the main reason for her
love and devotion is that she was an ardent supporter of her brother
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, but Fatima Jinnah's own personality is no less
important.
Fatima Jinnah, born in 1893. After the death of his father, he started living
with his elder brother. With the encouragement of her brother, she completed her
education and stayed in the hostel while studying at Dr. Ahmed Dental College.
In the days of 1923 when it was unthinkable for girls from Muslim families to
take up any profession, Fatima Jinnah opened her dental clinic in Calcutta. When
the Quaid-i-e-Azam's wife, Rati Jinnah, died, he gave up his professional life
and moved in with his brother and took care of their house and young niece. He
stayed by his brother's side in the field of politics.
When the All India Muslim League was formed, Ms. Fatima Jinnah became a member
of the Bombay Provincial Working Committee and continued to serve in it until
1947. In March 1940, he also participated in the Lahore resolution meeting of
the Muslim League. All India Muslim Students Federation was founded in Delhi in
February 1941 due to the efforts of Ms. Fatima Jinnah. During the partition of
India and the transfer of power, Fatima Jinnah formed the Women's Aid Committee
and it was this organization that later became the All Pakistan Women's
Association (APWA) founded by Rana Liaquat Ali Khan. After the establishment of
Pakistan, he did immense work for the settlement of the refugees. Later she also
returned to the field of politics and participated in the elections of the
President of Pakistan.
In breaking the tradition, he challenged Ayub Khan and fought him well for the
post of President of Pakistan. About two and a half million people flocked to
Dhaka to catch a glimpse of him at his inaugural rally, and millions lined up as
far as Chittagong to welcome him. His train, called the 'Azadi Special Train',
arrived 22 hours late as people pulled the emergency brake and begged him to
speak to him. She was truly the mother of the nation.
Fatima Jinnah's services in the field of social development cannot be ignored.
Along with Begum Liaquat Ali Khan, she did great services for the awareness of
women and their involvement in the affairs of the country. If Fatima Jinnah is a
role model for Pakistani girls today, she rightly deserves it given her life
full of brilliant achievements.
