According to a UNICEF United Nations survey, 40 percent of the marriages in
Pakistan last year were for girls under the age of 18, 30 percent of which were
reported from inner Sindh and 10 percent from southern Punjab, and this is the
record of registered marriages. In addition to this, the number of forced
marriages is also high, and the number is not less. Many NGOs are working for
women's rights. Not more than and they are funded from abroad and they only do
the paperwork for this funding. Practically nothing is done in this regard. It
is digested by giving it a religious color, the family and tribal system is so
powerful that many times the parents have to bow before it unwillingly. If it is
given, sometimes the girl is handed over to the opponents as a ransom for the
murder. Another reason for girls There is no proper registration in the official
or Nadra records, the girl is still young and at the time of marriage, the law
is also evaded by writing her age higher and all this involves the hands of
powerful vadirs and zamindars in the village. The Maulvi registers this marriage
for some money and all this is done openly and not secretly. When the judge and
the murderer meet, who will bring justice to the victim and how can murder be
called murder and crime be called crime? In any case, there has been so much
moral decline and corruption in our society that everything from biscuits to
faith can be bought. Some unbelievers are found and the judges are ready to sell
their faith for a few rupees without the consent of the girl. It is not only
wrong from both social point of view but also a crime but all this is being done
openly and brazenly. On the other hand, sixteen-year-old marriage has also been
legalized, which in itself is a contradiction and a joke between the laws. It is
only 4.8 percent and it also includes the element of shamelessness and
disrespect and the blame comes on the girl that she is disobedient and rude. And
either she is married off or she is forced to take care of the house. Sadia
while narrating her story says that her grandmother arranged her marriage to her
cousin who was thirteen years old at the time of her birth when she was 14 years
old. When she was in matriculation, she was so engrossed in her homework that
she could not prepare for the exams and failed, so she was married off to her
cousin who was thirteen years older than her, who was then twenty-seven years
old. He said that to stop him from studying, he was deliberately involved in
domestic problems so that he could finish his studies on the basis of failure
because he found her very beautiful and he could get married early. The main
cause of early marriage has been proved because the girl's body is weak and raw
due to which she dies without bearing this pain. Yeti, if she survives and
accidentally gives birth to a girl, then her life is made hell with taunts, then
sometimes the stove explodes and sometimes she dies due to electrocution.
Surprisingly, the stove also explodes for the daughter-in-law. Electricity also
kills this innocent person, mother-in-law, father-in-law, husband, etc. No such
accident happens to anyone, and if nothing like this happens, they taunt her and
torture her in such a way that she would be forced to commit suicide.
