Accountability / Self-accountability
(Syed Manazir-ul-Haq, Karachi)
Human beings are nominated by
Allah as His deputy. It is a great honor for human beings because other
creatures have not been granted such kind of honor even angels are not awarded
endowment of the honor of deputy. But this honor is required that man should act
upon according to the instructions of Allah and His Prophet because only two
creatures of the Universe i.e. “Man” and “Jin” who have given potential
authority by the Creator of the Universe are accountable to their deeds. They
must be punished in the shape of Hell over their sins and disbelieving over
Allah and the Doomsday and awarded Heaven over their faith and good deeds.
Accountability is as old as man – when the first man and woman disobeyed the
instructions of Allah in Heaven they were expelled out of the Heaven and it was
the first accountability which bred punishment against human beings carried out
by Allah. This succession is continued and will be continued till the end of the
world. If we analyze the laws of nature it has come to our knowledge that each
deed invariably has its consequence if deed is positive consequence is positive
otherwise negative.
History tells us that when accountability in any area or society of the world
becomes weak anarchy and plight overcomes there as accountability holds justice
and when justice is not observed devil’s rules prevail there which leads to
disaster also may drive human beings to Hell. If we want to have dual favor we
should first carry out self-accountability in true way and leave the habit of
criticizing others. When we mend ourselves each segment of the society will be
pacified as individuals form society and our country will become a cot of peace
of the world. Self-accountability requires us that we should observe justice in
each step and corner according to the teaching of the Holy Quran which is not an
easy task and requires patience and firmly believe in the Dooms Day. First we
make justice with our all family members (wife, children, parents etc) and
afterwards with our neighbors, with our relatives, with our friends, colleagues,
accompanies, acquaintances, associates and with our domestic employees and
subordinates. Self-accountability also requires us that we should avoid
exploitation against any-one especially with our domestic servants and care them
properly particularly by way of their wages. It has been observed that domestic
servants are paid very low – they are denied their due rights especially by way
of wages also they are exploited due to their unprivileged state.
Exploitation in the long run breeds enmity and hostility which may become risky
and dangerous for the exploiting persons and entity and they in the long run
face the consequences of their ill-deeds and leave their dependents in
jeopardized. To lead moderate life the observance of self-accountability is a
must and without self-accountability we will be not in a position to feel the
grievances of others because self-accountability breeds good deeds as well as
empathy and sympathy which are certainly assets of the Day-after.
Self-accountability also prevents individuals of doing bad deeds as they firmly
believe in the day-after and know that they are being observed by Allah who is
the lord of the universe and doomsday and their all deeds and faith must be
evaluated in the Day. If we want to succeed in the dual worlds especially in the
Day-after we must mend our-self by way of self-accountability. My Allah give
courage us to do self-accountability- Aameen.
