Can money buy happiness?
Certainly not . Money is a material thing while happiness is an immaterial
thing. It is obvious that a material thing can buy a material things. This means
that money cannot buy happiness. The reason is simple.
There is no capability between money ,a material thing, an happiness an
immaterial things. This incompatibility is akin to that of a whip and pain. Can
we beat a child with a whip ? Certainly not why? Because both the whip and the
pain are incompatible things in sense that the pain is not a material thing whip
a material thing .This compatibility theory brings us to the inference the
conclusions that money can buy every tangible material but it can not buy any in
tangible material.
Why do we want to buy happiness ?Because happiness is as rare as gold. Go to a
hospital ward. You cannot see the plight of the serious patients. No patients on
the earth is happy . Be he rich or poor he wants to be happy as a healthy man.
He may distribute his entire accumulation of money to purchase a single moment
of happiness but he cannot get it. He can feel happy only when he recovers his
health. That is why said that “health is wealth”. This means to say that wealth
is not health . in our daily routine life we observe every healthy man smiling
and laughing while every unhealthy man weeping and lamenting.
Because disease there are so many other perceptible and imperceptible causes of
a man unhappy. Suppose he has failed in his examination or that his young son
has died by some serious accident. It is obvious that any such un happy man will
like to get rid of his unhappiness. The trouble is that he can nowhere buy his
happiness only because he can find no shop on earth where happiness may be sold.
This clearly means that money can not buy happiness.
