The largest city of Pakistan,
the metropolitan hub of this country, Karachi, our city that was once colourful
with beautiful breeze filling its evenings. There was hope, zeal and enthusiasm
in people's lives. But alas! The city is no more the city of lights!
The city has been facing multiple problems. Growing population is one of them.
Uncontrolled and unsystematic movement of people in Karachi from all provinces
of Pakistan, as well as from other Asian countries has created a lot of problems
for Karachi. The fundamental problems are concerned with the basic needs of
people e.g economic, over-population in residential areas, water supply,
electricity, communication, etc. Slow working progress of development projects,
poor road conditions, transport problems and many others have added to the
miseries of the people.
However, the biggest problem is the poor law and order situation. Terrorism has
snatched the peace of city. The prevailing violence is the result of political
conspiracy. The concerned authorities should take necessary measures to ensure
peace in the city for the protection and security of its citizens.
