Increasing Robbery Incidents In Buses
(Hafiz Muhammad Noman , Karachi)
I was going to my office on
Wednesday night when a robber robbed me on gunpoint at Quaidabad’s main bus
stop.
When the incident took place, only three people including me were sitting in the
bus. The two men were sitting infront of me but there was some distance among us
whereas I was sitting at the tail of the bus. A man wearing shalwar qameez got
on the bus and sat with me. He took a pistol out of his shalwar and pointed at
my stomach while he directed me to keep silent. The robber snacthed my expensive
mobile and some money and ran away. All this happened so quietly and easily that
I can’t believe.
This is perhaps not the first inbcident but such incidents keep happening most
frequently in this society. The main reason for such incidents is security
lapses or lack of security. When the incident took place with me, I immediately
tried to find the police but unfortuately, no police was present there although
that is the Quaidabad’s main bus stop and the police must be deployed there.
I request the authorities concerned to please ensure police deployment at
Quaidabad so that the increasing crime’s ratio should be coped with and people
may feel secured.
