Causes a heart attack
Heart attack is due to clotting of blood in a narrowed coronary artery. risk
factors for narrowing of coronary arteries due to plaques are modifiable and non
modifiable ones.
MODIFIABLE: obesity , hypertension , diabetes , mellitus , smoking ,
dyslipidemia ( abnormal fat in blood )
NON MODIFIABLE: age, gender, heredity, (family history of premature coronary
artery disease)
Another important cause of heart disease, especially in children is congenital
or birth defects in the development of the heart. in developing countries
rheumatic heart disease as a consequence of streptococcal ( type of bacteria )
infections is also common cause of heart disease. infections of the heart by
viruses, bacteria and protozoa also contribute to heart disease burden.
Heart attack can be treated immediately by analgesia, ant platelet drug and clot
dissolving drugs or primary balloon angioplasty.
