Bomb Explosions Again on Hike
(Hafiz Muhammad Noman, Karachi)
No sooner did people forget the
incident of Jaffar Express, than another shocking incident occurred in Islamabad
Fruit mandi when a five kilogram bomb explosive material was detonated that
claimed 24 innocent lives, injuring 116 others. In this way, 41 innocent people
lost their lives whereas 161 others were injured in two days and perhaps some of
them are in serious condition.
In both of the incidents, two different Baloch separatist organisations
including United Liberation Army (ULA) and United Balochistan Army (UBA) claimed
responsibilities of both the incidents respectively. Federal Interior Minister
Chauhadry Nisar Ali Khan, after the bomb blast in Fruit mandi, reached at the
site and later issued his statement, rejecting the United Balochistan Army’s
claim for the blast. On the other hand, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan condemned the
blast, stating that the Taliban still abided by the ceasefire pact. In addition,
TTP’s statement ‘’killing innocent people is forbidden’’ is appreciable.
As Chauhadry Nisar rejected the UBA’a claim for the blast in the mandi, he is
now responsible to unveil the secret hand, being involved in the explosion. When
Islamabd, the capital city, is not saved from blasts and killings of innocent
labours or fruit sellers, how can other cities be saved from such incidents? Who
is responsible for security lapses? Such incidents mark questions on Pakistan’s
law enforcement agencies and their performance and it feels that none can freely
spend their lives here.
