Islamabad Blast : A Wake-Up Call!
(Aroosa Nadeem, Rawalpindi)
On April 9, 2014 a deafening
blast which ripped in the fruit market and echoed throughout the twin cities has
raised many questions on security measures currently prevailing in the capital.
The present government is buck passing the charge of security failure to the
former government which imported the security scanners of more than a billion
rupee. This has always been the pertinent part of our Political Culture to
forward every such accuse to some foreign agency which coincidentally comes out
to be the former government most likely. Every suchlike charge is pointed
towards the Inherited Legacy and so the time to take some practical steps in
eradication of the problem gets mingled up with the counter blame-game session
subsequently resulting in no good.
The current terror attack combined with previous F-8 and Blue Area Incident has
widely opened the failure of present government, city administration and of
intelligence and security agencies in providing the citizens with protection of
life against security threats.
If the heart of the country, the capital is this much vulnerable and unsafe to
live in, the security measures being provided in the other parts of the country
can be very well imagined.
The valued human blood is getting cheaper and cheaper everyday but the
administration seem to be totally negligent of it. This shows how much the
government is concerned about the life of a common man. The situation is
pathetic and becoming worse every next day. Now this is much needed for the
government, intelligence sources and for security agencies to come out of their
comfort zones as to get this bloodshed stopped. This could only be achieved by
the collective and focused effort. Its a Wake-up Call now!
