Are We Free?
(Shahnawaz Mandhro, Badin, Sindh)
Freedom is that beneficial
thing which allows a man to demonstrate his talent, evaluate his intellect and
judge his genius. Everyone fights for it, everyone longs for it, rather it is
his that right which can not be snatched by anyone. So no one should make
endeavors to snatch it. It was the happiest day for the Muslims of sub-continent
when Pakistan appeared on the map of the world as an independent state. They
distributed sweets in all and sundry, they had not any idea of what future will
bring but they were completely absorbed in those valleys of mirth where slogans
of freedom were being chanted. Today when we caste a glance at the plight of
Pakistan, then still we find ourselves as slaves, we have not got any freedom
but we have changed our masters. In early days foreigners were our masters while
today our masters are natives.
There will rise so many questions as how we are slaves, so I would try at my
best to answer such type of questions here. In context with the aforesaid
definition of freedom, if we peep inside our country, we will find that
imposition recommendation, finance and might rule. Terrorism prevails here, our
education is being eradicated by adopting copy culture, our talent is deprived.
Our elected representatives demonstrate infidelity, they breach our trust, they
rule over our by so called democracy, they themselves affluent by sucking the
blood of masses. Merit is being degraded here.
Do you still think that we are FREE?
