Blessings of Laila-tul-Qadr
(Mohammad Rafique, Dera Nawab Sahib)
Of the endless blessings of
Ramazan, the most prominent is Laila-tul-Qadr, commonly known as the Ramazan
Night. It falls in one of the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramazan and is
generally regarded as the 27th.
It is the night on which the Holy Quran’s revelation commenced. Almighty Allah
Says in the Holy Quran,” Lo! We revealed it (the Quran) on the night of
Power…The night of Power is better than a thousand months. The angels and the
Sprit (the Gabriel A.S.) descend therein, by the permission of their Lord, with
all decrees. (That night is ) peace until the rising of the dawn.”(Al-Qadr:30).
Ummah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was awarded special compensation considering
one night’s worship equal to one thousand months. (Tafseer Haqqane).
Hazrat Anas (R.A) narrated from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) that when
‘Laila-tul-Qadr’ falls, Hazrat Gibriel (A.S) descends in the company of other
angels. They invoke the bounty and salvation of Allah for those who are busy in
prayer, sitting or standing. When the Eid day falls, the angels are filled with
envy of believers forbearance, and piety and their reward they are going to
achieve. Allah Almighty asks the angels what should be the reward for the
laborers having paid their duty completely? The angels submit that their
recompense is: that their wages should completely be paid.
Allah Says that His believers have paid their duty and now are asking for
salvation, which is granted therein.(Bokhari, Muslim).
These are the glimpses of the blessings of the Ramazan Night. In fact, God
showers His bounty on the believers the hole night.
