The love for life is natural
and in the same way the fear of death is also a natural phenomenon. Neither it
is easy to kill someone without any cause nor it is easy to sacrifice one’s life
without any proper cause, however, the defense of motherland is such a rationale
that has been accepted from thousands of years. That is why Allama Muhammad
Iqbal says, “One of the gods is the country”. At some places it is known as
motherland and those who sacrifice their lives are considered to be better than
the best of the creations.
Martyred are those who sacrifice their lives for the love of their country, for
bright future of their country and to save the lives of other. In common
language we call them Soldiers. Yes! I am talking about our great soldiers of
Pakistan Army who never ever forget to done their duties. Who always stand
besides us in case of any difficulty. They give us hope, protect us, fight for
till their last breath and then met Allah with a smiling face.
However, Islam specified this term only for those who lay down their lives for
the protection of country and religion (Islam) and not only gave it highest
degree of respect for those who embrace martyrdom but also uplifted the status
of their families to manifolds as well. So the will for martyrdom or Shahadat
became the identity of a Muslim Soldier / Mujahid and this was the wish for
getting martyred that proved all weapons of enemies useless in front of these
great Muslim warriors as well as enemy has not been able to discover / invent
any weapon in spite of creation of weapons of mass destruction to face this wish
of Muslims except that by misleading Muslim world sexually and making it apart
from Islamic teachings. Now a days world is at its best in the field of latest
weapons of destruction but in front of passion of a Muslim soldier especially
Pakistani soldier they are nothing more than a heap of sand. Perhaps this is why
enemies are targeting Islam, Islamic norms in the society as they are aware that
the soldier of Pakistan is not only a practicing Muslim but also flag bearer and
defender of the ideological boundaries of Pakistan as well whose passion of
Jihad could not be defeated in a conventional war.
I did not ignore the soldiers who embraced shahadat in recent incident at the
PAF camp in Peshawar. Our great sons of country fought for the love of their
country and the people of country to their lives. Some of our soldiers embraced
shahadat while fighting with the country enemies. Our brave soldier Capt.
AsfandYar was one of them. He was awarded by the sword of honor in 2008. He
embraced shahadat while fighting leading his troops from the front-10.
Great are these soldiers and great their mothers are, who grew up their sons for
the protection of country and mankind. These are the real pride of Nation. I
salute all of them and their families. Yes it is true that martyred never die.
They live in our hearts, in our minds, in our talks and in everyone’s memories.
