Pre-disaster management
(Noshin Bashir, Sargodha)
                a view after disasterous quake
Instead of waiting for the
militarymen to come and look after the affected people we should trained the
local healthcare staff in way to quickly respond to earthquake situation. Public
and private sector should conduct special training programs in this regard.
Besides keeping emergency response equipment accessible to local residents, the
proper building codes must also be considered. By applying proper building codes
we can minimize the after effects of earthquake along seismic lines.
The government should mobilize the institution of disaster management to
undertake the preliminary steps to avoid the excessive loss of life and property
in trembling of the Earth. The pre-disaster management cost is far less than the
post-disaster management costs.
The public services should made effective to every corner of the city and
sufficient resources should be provided to the public servants for example
aerial moves by local public servants can easily evacuate the earthquake
stricken areas instead of waiting for military aid.
