Education and Political leadership of Pakistan
(Noshin Bashir, Sargodha)
The biggest dilemma responsible
for the restrained conditions of public sector schools is that the educational
reforms has never been on the agenda of political representatives or political
parties. Our MNA’s, no matter, whether they belong to the ruling party or
opposition party, revitalized the agenda of criticism.
The education includes in primary responsibilities of the members of National
Assembly irrespective of their personal interest in education. The boundary
walls were necessitated nationwide following the Army Public School disaster in
December last year.
The educational indicators briefed by educational campaigners are inadequate
because they just represent the physical state of public sector schools. These
indicators must enlists the availability of teaching and non-teaching staff,
extra-curriculum activities and number of drop out students per session.
As far as the gender parity is concerned, the political representatives can
authoritatively launch awareness campaigns among the people of their respective
constituencies to understand the global, economic and domestic impacts of gender
biased issues.
The members of National Assembly enjoy the VIP. culture and becomes invisible to
the residents of constituency after being elected, and this is the case for
many.
